
Newscanner started development of the Eyeball in 1999, and it has
been under continuous development to add new features and facilities,
produce a larger version with multi-color and almost unlimited communications.
The Newscanner family consists of a Public Company in the United
Kingdom. The development, manufacturing and assembly of the product
is carried out in the United States at the Newscanner Factory
in Belchertown, Massachusetts.
In February 2002, the Company moved into a 6500 sq feet manufacturing
facility at 401 Mill Valley Road in Belchertown, Mass 01007, where
it has established its principal office and operations. The operations
for international market are handled from the UK office based
in Slough, Berkshire.

David Davies (

The management team is led by David Davies, Executive Chairman
and President. Mr. Davies is a founding member of Newscanner and
has been a principal source of funding during its development
stage. Mr. Davies also brings a record of proven business success
throughout his tenure. He has been Chairman and principal shareholder
of Craufurd Group plc (UK), a specialist engineering business,
since 1962. Mr. Davies was Group Financial Director and served
a short time as acting Managing Director of Herbert plc of Coventry
in 1973, until its acquisition by the UK Government. He was Financial
Director of Kirkstall Forge plc of Leeds from 1967 to 1973. Mr.
Davies is a Fellow of the International Institute of Chartered
Secretaries & Administrators (1962) and a Fellow of the Chartered
Institute of Certified Accountants (1973). He was educated at
King Edwards IV College, Slough Grammar School and then at HMS
Conway, a leading Naval College, leaving in 1945 to join the Royal
Navy Reserve, serving with the Far East Fleet at the end of World
War II. He retired from the service with the rank of Lieutenant
Commander. Following naval service, he studied Patent and Commercial
Law at London University.

Frank Leja was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Newscanner
U.S. in January 2003. In 1999 Mr. Leja took on the design and
development of the “Eyeball” from the original specification
through his own LED manufacturing company, RTF Inc. He has been
principally involved with the technical and electronic development
of the project through to production. Mr. Leja formed RTF Inc
in 1979, to specialize in the design and manufacture of electronic
equipment, control systems, medical instrumentation and power
supplies. From 1974 to 1979 Frank was chief electronics engineering
manager of the Darcy Company, refrigeration equipment manufacturers.
From 1969 to 1974 Mr. Leja was chief mechanical design engineer
with the Kellogg Brush Company. Following military service, Mr.
Leja studied at the University of Maryland and the Springfield
Technical College graduating in Machine and Tool Design in 1967.
He continued this program in 1968 at the Western New England College
School of Engineering studying materials and materials composition.

European Sales Mgr., joined Newscanner plc in the UK in February 2004. Roger started his career in sales in 1981 at the sharp end of direct selling. Roger moved into selling security systems and joined Sensormatic in 1991, becoming General Manager of their operation in Ireland in 1995. Moving to the Richmond Group in 1997, Roger specialized in CCTV and Loss Prevention Systems. In 1997 Roger was invited to form a direct sales force for the Midlands Electricity Board, a division of Npower, one of the largest facilities suppliers in the UK.
